The rumors about a 6-Series Gran Touring / Gran Turismo are back after Mercedes-Benz reveled its CLS Shooting Brake recently, for those hopeful for a rival.
Although no one has ever seen a 6-Series Shooting Brake, back in 2010 Dr. Klaus Draeger, BMW’s head of development, said that a concept for one had been crafted.
Since then, the 6-Series has gotten convertible, coupe and Gran Coupe variants. Now, as the buzz is spreading, a 2014 launch date is being tossed around. The model is said to be spun off the 6-Series Gran Coupe with highlights like slim rear windows, a sloping roofline, and a 4.4-liter turbo V8 engine that kicks out 552 hp and 502 lb-ft.
