Unprecedented outage across all categories
[Update: Apple's refurb store now working normally for all regions] Apple’s US online store is seeing its third straight day without any refurbished products in stock for some users, particularly those in the eastern half of the US, according to MacNN checks and reader anecdotes. For those affected, the situation is affecting all refurb categories, including clearance, Mac, iPad, and even iPod items. “Sorry there are no products available, please check back later,” a notice reads.
Further checks with those west of Chicago and outside the US show the US store stock as normal, with various Macs and iPods available (refurbished iPads appear to be sold out even for users who see the refurb store normally). The company typically has at least several products available in each category, and comparing notes on international and west-coast views of the US refurb section suggests that the problem may be regional to the east half of the country and is an issue with Apple’s website rather than actual stock issues. Apple has yet to reply to any inquiries, but users who can’t see any refurbished stock available can still call Apple to find out about available models and order items.
Update: the technical problem that prevented some regions from seeing any inventory in the US and some other refurb stores has now been corrected.
